Behavior Policy for Young People with Additional Needs
The purpose of this policy is to promote positive behavior, ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people with additional needs, and create a supportive environment for learning and personal development. This policy applies to all staff, tutors, and caregivers working within the child’s home.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Develop individualized behavior support plans in collaboration with parents, guardians, and relevant professionals.
- Implement strategies that are respectful, non-punitive, and focus on positive outcomes.
Communication and Collaboration
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents and guardians about the young person's behavior and progress
- Share information about successful behavior strategies and seek input from parents and guardians.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists or educators, to provide consistent support.
Training and Development
- Provide regular training for staff, tutors, and caregivers on positive behavior support and managing challenging behavior.
- Ensure that staff are knowledgeable about the specific needs and preferences of the young people they support.
Monitoring and Review
- Monitor the effectiveness of behavior strategies and make adjustments as necessary.
- Conduct regular reviews of behavior support plans and involve parents, guardians, and relevant professionals in the process.
Confidentiality
- Respect the privacy and confidentiality of young people and their families.
- Ensure that behavior-related information is only shared with relevant individuals on a need-to-know basis.
Policy Review
